Offered in this lot is a collection of Montana and other western area receipts and ephemera. The first four items are receipts from Frederick Kraemer Harness and Saddles. The receipts are dated 11/1/1885, 12/1/1891, 4/2/1894, and 1/8/1897. These receipts are 8 1/2" X 7" and 8" X 6 1/2". The next two items are bank draft notes, one from 6/7/1901 and one from 6/10/1902. Both were to the First National Bank of Miles City, Montana and measure 8 1/2" X 3 1/2". The next is a receipt from Virginia City, Montana, Virginia and Alder Stage Line and dated 8/1/1912. It measures 5 1/2" X 8 1/2". The next item is an envelope and letter from "Agent Virginia City & Red Bluff Stage Co”. The letter is dated January 9, 1897 and discusses charges for feed for horses. The letter paper is 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and the envelope is approximately 3 3/4" X 6 1/2". The next item is an envelope from Mitchell & Lewis Co. Racine, Wisconsin to Buford at Virginia City, Montana, dated 6/5/1895, and an envelope and letter dated 9/11/1908. These envelopes are 3 1/2" X 6 1/4"; the letter unfolded measures 7 1/4" X 8 1/2". The next item is a photograph of a man dressed in "Wild West Show" style, standing next to a child sitting in a tuba. The photo measures 5 3/4"x 3 1/4". The last item is a blank sheet of paper with the letterhead from “The Original Famous & Only Dodge City Cow-boy Band Pueblo, Colo.” The letterhead shows the incorporation of the organization and its managers and has a date line of 189__. All of these pieces of ephemera are in very good condition.
