This is an original Montana Territory Knives of Bozeman, Montana knife with an excellent Montana whitetail deer scrimshaw artwork. This knife is truly a work of “Montana” art as it shows the whitetail deer forged “rustic” Damascus a tribute to the wilderness of our state and scrimshaw artwork Native American Indian heritage. The blade has been forged from 1095HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon which is then heated and folded into 396 layers creating the astounding “Damascus” steel. The knife shows an excellent ladder wave Damascus pattern with immense detail. The hollow grind full tang blade has been paired with a set of nice wild Buffalo bone grip scales which are secured to the piece with a mosaic pin of brass and copper. The knife also features a set of polished bolsters with a comfortable finger well. The tang has been artfully hand vine filled across the back. The knife is in brand new condition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity along with a Lifetime warranty. The blade is marked with the “MONTANA TERRITORY KNIVES BOZEMAN MONTANA” stamping which shows the outline of Montana. The knife has been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather hand crafted sheath. The knife measures overall 10 1/8" long with the blade being 5 5/8" long. The sheath and knife together measure10 3/4" long.
