For your consideration is a double page map of Montana & Yellowstone National Park, Wyoming, circa 1902. This rare map shows Montana county lines, rivers, lakes, mountains, geysers, roads, and other details relevant to its age. The original engraving of this map is by George Cram, c 1890-1902. George F. Cram (1842-1928), or George Franklin Cram, was an American mapmaker and businessman. In 1867, Cram and his uncle, Rufus Blanchard, began the company known by their names in Evanston, Illinois. Two years later, Cram became sole proprietor and the company was henceforth known as George F. Cram Co. Specializing in atlases, Cram was one of the first American companies to publish a world atlas. On the reverse of this map print is an index to the state of Montana, including railroads, counties, and towns. The map is in good condition, with a small tear on the right edge and page seam. This double page, folio state map measures approximately 16 inches high x 22.25 inches wide.
