The necklace features a wonderfully and professionally crafted 14k Yellow gold and Montana Yogo Sapphire construction that shows a thin 14k yellow gold chain with a small pendant that shows a oval cut Montana Yogo Sapphire with blue color and shows measurements in setting of 3.14mm x 3.85mm x 1.81mm and an approximate weight of 1.6 carats. The earrings feature a wonderfully crafted 14k yellow gold construction with two round brilliant cut Montana yogo blue sapphires that show measurements of 3.30mm x 3.28mm x 1.72mm and 3.28mm x 3.18mm x 1.67mm with the total approximate carat weight as 0.28cts. Montana Yogo Sapphires are mined from a lead very similar to that in which the diamonds are mined in Africa. They occur in a chimney filled with blue clay. This clay is left to slake in the open air until it falls to pieces and then the gems are recovered. This process takes about four years. Other sapphires are found by placer mining. The Yogo is the greatest Sapphire mining center in the state today. Sapphires were first found in Montana by miners who were washing the gravel bars for gold. Since that time Montana has been the only place in America where Sapphires are found. The measurements of this necklace from clasp to clasp is 18" and the pendant measures 1/4" x 1/8".
