Featured in this lot is this Mozambique natural ruby diamond and platinum ring with AIGL paperwork. The ring features a polished, stamped, and tested platinum ring with a bright finish and shows a 'Sheffield and Sons' and shows a 'PT950' stamp underneath the hallmark and is marked as follows: DO .71ct. The center stone is a natural oval brilliant cut crown Mozambique ruby that measures 10.13 x 8.10 x 5.11mm and shows a purplish red coloration with a semi transparent to translucent luster and a total weight of 3.90 carats. Mozambique ruby is a premium variety of ruby gemstone, resourced from Mozambique region of Africa. Due to its brilliant red hue and high transparency, Mozambique ruby is more valuable than the rubies found in other African mines. The center stone is profusely decorated with a total of 16 natural round brilliant cut diamonds that show measurements of 2.0 - 2.5mm and shows a clarity of VS1 - SI1 and a color gradient of G - H and a total diamond weight of 0.72 carats. The piece comes complete with AIGL Inc.(American International Gemological Laboratories, Inc. a GIA certified lab AIGL#: K68D99-EA 14727) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $20,697.00. GIA (Gemological Institute of America) Ruby Grading Report#: 6224305526. The ring size is US 6 1/2.
