Included in this lot we have a Murray and Gray Co large clip point bowie knife originating from 1863. The knife displays a large clip point style bowie blade, metal "S" guard, and wooden grip. The blade shows a heavy construction with a single cutting edge with a clip point design. The blade is marked across the left side "R. Mole Murray And Gray Co." and dated "1863 EX" on the right side. The guard shows a "S" style steel guard. The grip shows wooden scales set with three steel pins with a metal band across the front. The grips are marked in faded lettering reading "Property of ". The knife shows good condition overall with a warm patina and some pitting due to age and use. The knife measures 15 1/4" long with the blade being 10" long.
