Featured in this lot is this natural tanzanite VS2 diamond and 18k white gold ring with AIG paperwork. The ring features a electronically tested 18k white gold ladies cast ring with split pave shoulders and sunburst lattice under gallery. The center stone is a prong set square cushion mixed cut natural tanzanite stone with measurements of 9.8mm x 9.65mm x 7.2mm with a 6% bulge factor and eye clean clarity with type I medium dark very slightly grayish violet blue coloration. The stone is (GIA vB 6/3) and good cut grade and a total weight of 5.56 carats. The pave split shoulders and the center stone are profusely decorated with a total of 70 round brilliant and emerald cut diamonds with VS1 - VS2 clarity and G - H color gradient and weighing a total of 1.42 carats. Tanzanite is a very rare precious gemstone that is only found in the Usumburu Mountains that border the Umba Valley of northern Tanzania. It was originally discovered in 1967 by Tiffany & Company, who named the stone Tanzanite. This example is unique due to its exceptional pleochroism (an optical phenomenon in which a stone has different colors when observed at different angles). The piece comes complete with AIG(American International Gemologists, a GIA certified lab AIG Appraisal Number#: RN018179) report and appraisal confirming the above info and giving a total value of $20,795.00. AIG(American International Gemologists) colored stone grading report: 15177039. The ring size is US 6 1/4.
