Featured in this lot is this Navajo banded Chinle Trading Post rug circa 1960's collected from Fort Defiance 1960's. Provenance: The collectors grandmother and grand father were homesteaders in Hesperus, Colorado in the late 1800's and her daughter bout this rug from Fort Defiance Trading Post in 1960's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a Chinle design with a light brown field and bands of off white, Cheyenne Pink, Pumpkin Orange, and dark grey. The condition of this Navajo rug is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage and shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this rug is 30 1/4" x 27 1/4". The thread count of this rug is 150 threads per square inch.
