Featured in this lot is this Navajo banded double saddle blanket circa 1950's. This rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a banded decoration that shows geometric patterns at each of the corners that includes triangular and diamond shapes on one end and eight sided stars on the other. The colors shown on this rug includes dark grey, orange, light brown, dark brown and black shown on the off white field and includes all four tassels. The thread count is 110 threads per square inch. The condition of this Navajo rug is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this rug are 26" x 53 1/2". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery.
