This auction shows the LAST two Navajo David Yellowhorse Damascus pocket knives with silver animal inlays series (only one offered in this lot). The series has now been sold out with this being the very last piece. David Yellowhorse has transformed this Damascus knife into visions of his Navajo heritage and the spirit of Western themes. The nickel silver silhouettes are hand cut and inlayed for a perfect fit. David Yellowhorse is one of, if not the, most renowned custom knife makers and is a Navajo Native American Indian. His knives are constantly on 6-12-month back order or more. This knife blade has been forged from 396 layers of very high quality 1095HC (High Carbon) steel and 15N20 Nickel Carbon which is then heated and folded creating the astounding “Damascus” steel. The knife shows an excellent and ladder Damascus pattern with immense detail. The Damascus blade is accented by the steer horn grip scales which show a silver hand cut inlaid Spread Wing Bald Eagle emblem. The bolsters are each matching forged raindrop Damascus and have been hand stippled / hammered by David Yellowhorse with his iconic stepped design. The pocketknife shows hand vile filed solid brass bolster linings with the spring frame also having the same vine file work. The engraved linings are also filed on the inside of the grip, a truly artful addition. The knife is hand engraved signed on the bolster, “David Yellowhorse”. The knife has been paired with a Great American Bison Buffalo leather hand crafted sheath. The knife is in brand new condition and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity which is marked as being "EAGLE" and is signed by David Yellowhorse. We are one of the only companies offering David Yellowhorse custom knives with a Damascus blade of such a high quality. The knife measures 7 3/8” when open with a 3.25” blade. When closed the knife is 4.25”. Again this and the next lot are the LAST Dave Yellowhorse Damascus silver inlaid pocket knife we have to offer and the entire series has been completely sold out.
