Presented in this lot is a Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Dancing Kokopelli Necklace, circa late century. The necklace features eleven (11) dancing kokopellis on a silver link chain. The Kokopelli dancer is a beloved humpbacked flute player figure from Southwestern Native American cultures, symbolizing fertility, music, joy, and abundance, representing the spirit of spring, good harvests, and life's renewal, while also acting as a mischievous trickster or traveler bringing blessings and good fortune. His flute music calls rain, awakens seeds, and signals the transition from winter to spring, with his dance representing the cycle of life, and his hump often carrying seeds or burdens. The Navajo Diné see him as a man who brought seeds and is known as the Humpback God. Stamped on the reverse is, "STERLING". The condition of this necklace is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this necklace from clasp to clasp is 25", collective weight is 56.5gms.
