Featured in this lot is this sterling silver and Kingman turquoise Tufa-cast bracelet from Navajo Artist Eva Billah. The bracelet shows a lovely Tufa-cast design and a three stone center piece with three round cut Kingman turquoise cabochons. The artist’s signature is shown on the underside of the bracelet above a 'sterling' stamp. Tufa-casting is an old Navajo technique where the impression of the bracelet is carved in volcanic stone (tufa-stone) and the molten metal is poured into the impression. This was one of the very first techniques that the Navajo created in the late 1800's. The condition of this bracelet is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this bracelet are 2" x 2 1/8" x 7/8" and the circumference is 4 5/8". The collective weight of this bracelet is 23g.
