This is an excellent historic Navajo Native American Indian First Phase Silver bracelet dating to the 19th Century. The 1st Phase trade silver bracelet features a medium size with wide cuff and hand engraved and tooled design in a roll etched style. The piece shwos a unique design in a basic form with the top of the bracelet having a wide surface which gradually angles in and finishes with a round end. The piece has a more basic construction with thin trade silver. Early silver pieces such as these are exceedingly rare. Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art in Bozeman which was both part museum and gallery. The bracelet measures 2.5” across by 2” from wrist opening to top of bracelet by 1 1/8”W across the top. The inside of the bracelet including the opening shows a 7” circumference wrist size.
