Featured in this lot is this Navajo Germantown Dazzler sample mans rug circa 1900-1910. The rug shows a traditional Germantown dazzler design with a central dazzler medallion with green and red coloration and a outer larger medallion of off white and black with a pink field. the corners show dazzler design with blue yellow and red coloration with two bands of green, light brown, off white, red and blue. The rug is still shown on the loom. The condition of this of this sample mans rug on loom is good with the top strand of the of the rug is a bit loose and there is a missing portion of the top of the rug but otherwise is in good overall condition. The measurements of this rug on the loom are 17 1/4" x 15 1/4". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Identification#: E1108.
