Featured in this lot is this Navajo Germantown medallion sampler circa 1910-1920. The sampler shows wonderfully and professionally crafted design with the rug still on the loom. The rug shows traditional Germantown design with a stepped red medallion shown on a field of bands of black and grey. The condition of this sampler is good with the top layer of the weave shown loose but otherwise in good overall condition. The measurements of this sampler on its loom are 14 1/4" x 12 1/4". Provenance: From the renowned Sundog Fine Art Bozeman, Montana collection and collected by Bruce VanLandingham. Bruce VanLandingham was a pillar in the American Indian collecting community and a respected expert. Along with being an avid collector, Bruce also was the sole owner of Sundog Fine Art Gallery in Bozeman, which was both part museum and gallery. Identification#: E1113.
