Featured in this lot is this Navajo Hubbell Trading Post 2nd Phase Chief's Germantown Blanket circa 1890. The blanket features weight weaving represents the Classic Period Second Phase Chief design. Lorenzo Hubbell had these pieces woven by his best weavers with these fine 4-ply Germantown yarns in these large rug sizes. Has recently been professionally cleaned. This blanket sold in 2024 from March in Montana for $9,500.00. The condition of this Navajo rug is good with very slight a/b sides. One side slightly faded. Some thin areas visible where warp is showing through along with one 1" hole on the edge near selvage. Handful of small light stains visible throughout, mostly isolated to one side. Also one very small red stain. Smaller than a pea, isolated to one side. One pea sized hole visible near center where warp is visible. Has recently been professionally cleaned. The measurements of this blanket is 6 foot x 7 foot 3 inches. Provenance: Ranchfolks Navajo Rugs.
