Featured in this lot is this sterling silver, turquoise, and Variscite necklace from Navajo artist Joe Madrid. This necklace features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver, turquoise and Variscite construction that features two sterling silver barrel beads along with a string of sterling silver Desert Pearls with discoidal Variscite button beads and features a large heavy sterling silver pendant with beautiful silverwork including a twisted rope decoration around the centerstone. The center stone is a beautiful oval cut cripple creek turquoise cabochon set into the face fo the pendant with beautiful light blue luster and a slight matrix of mineral deposits throughout. The pendant is marked 'JM' for Joe Madrid and shows two 'sterling' stamps next to the hallmark. The necklace is ended with aglets that are marked 'sterling' with a rising sun hallmark above the mark. The condition of this necklace is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this necklace from clasp to clasp are 20" and the pendant measures 1 1/4" x 1 1/2". The collective weight of this necklace is 63.4g.
