The lot features an original Navajo Native American Indian hand-woven wool rug with a Klagetoh pattern dating to circa 1900. The rug most likely originates from the Klagetoh Arizona Trading Post owned and operated by Juan Lorenzo Hubbell. The rug shows a central storm pattern medallion stretching the entirety of the rug which is then flanked by four corn stalk like storm patterns of a geometric pattern, The rug shows an exceptional large size with bright coloring and a dramatic pattern which is tightly hand knotted and has vivid natural vegetable dyed coloring of grey, white, dark brown, medium brown and red. The background of the rug follows traditional Klagetoh designs, showing a predominately speckled grey coloring. The rug is truly of an early age and of a very large size. The rug has been used showing a few wear spots that have made their way through the rug and some fraying on the corners, if the holes were not present this would easily be a $8,000 to $12,000 rug due to its amazing design and early age. Overall the piece displays well and would be a fantastic addition to any collection. The piece measures 86 1/2" long by 57" wide.
