Included in this lot are Vintage Navajo Diné Lester Jackson Multi-Stone Inlay Dangle Earrings, circa 1980s - 1990s. The bar design earrings feature a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver displaying geometric designed inlay stones of Turquoise, Jet, Red Coral, Opal and Mother of Pearl, braided silver rope and silver beads. Lester Jackson is a renowned Navajo silversmith born on May 5, 1951, on the Navajo reservation at Indian Wells, Arizona. While the Zuni are famous for delicate inlay, Navajo work often features bold, substantial pieces, with artists meticulously shaping each stone for a flush, flush surface or sometimes creating raised "cobblestone" effects. The artist's hallmark is stamped on the reverse of the earrings, "L" and "J" and ".925". The earrings are in very nice condition, sterling silver is nicely polished, inlay stones display a dramatic and stunning unique design. Each measures 3"L, collective weight is 7.8gms.
