Included in this lot is a rare original Navajo Morty Johnson Old Pawn Turquoise & Sterling Leaf Pond Scene Belt Buckle and rare Sport 'N Leather Snake inlay raised design women's leather belt, four (4) Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochon nuggets. Morty Johnson was a renowned Navajo Native American sliversmith fron the late 20th century. Navajo silversmiths are recognized for their artistic creations in a variety of forms using silver and turquoise. Navajos probably learned smithing from Mexican ironworkers in the 1850s, and by about 1875 some were working in silver. The first artisans were men; women began to work silver around 1918. Buckle and belt are both in overall good condition, buckle stones are in good condition without chipping nor marring, leather belt is supple, inlay and raised leather are in good condition. Buckle measures 3.5"L x 2.5"W, belt measures 41.5"L x 1.5"W
