Featured in this lot is this Navajo Klagetoh Trading post rug with rare whirling logs from circa 1920's. This rug shows a grey field with a large stepped 'X' through the the center of the rug with two whirling log motifs on either side of the rug. There are two spider woman motifs on either side of the rug and shows a crystal design of the border with an off white color and dark brown. The Crystal Trading Post (established 1896; now closed) was located on the Navajo Reservation in far western New Mexico, high up in the Chuska Mountains. Due to its remote location, trading post proprietor J.B. Moore had to be resourceful to sell the Navajo rugs he purchased from the local weavers. The condition of this rug is good with no obvious signs of damage and in good overall condition. The measurements of this rug are 68 1/2" x 47 1/2".
