Featured in this lot is this Navajo Old Crystal Trading Post rug circa 1920's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that features a beautiful crystal design to the central part of the rug that shows colors such as light brown, heathered brown, grey, black and a cream field. The Crystal Trading Post (established 1896; now closed) was located on the Navajo Reservation in far western New Mexico, high up in the Chuska Mountains. Due to its remote location, trading post proprietor J.B. Moore had to be resourceful to sell the Navajo rugs he purchased from the local weavers. The condition of this rug is good and shows its age with some aging to the rug and some wear to the edges of the rug but otherwise shows good overall condition. The measurements of this rug is 57 1/2" x 31 1/2".
