Featured in this lot is a Navajo Orion's Belt stars pictorial rug, circa 1940s. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted hand woven wool construction with an off white or beige field and shows dark brown lined stars with light brown, orange brown, and light brown coloration. The starts graduate throughout the rug showing its hand woven nature and needing to complete the weave with less space. The border shows geometric patterns of light grey, red, and dark brown coloration. The rug shows Lazy Lines throughout the rug that represents the age of the rug. The condition of this Navajo rug is well preserved with no obvious signs of damage to the weave and the border edge of the rug looking intact. The measurements of this rug are 65 3/4"L x 31 1/4"W. The thread count is 128 threads per square inch.*
