Featured in this lot is this excellent tufa cast sterling silver bracelet or cuff from amazing Navajo Native American Indians silversmith artist, Raymond Begay. The bracelet has a heavy sterling silver construction and is stamped, “Sterling Ray B”. The bracelet is made using the very unique Tufa casting method, a method used by some of the first Navajo silver makers in the 1870’s. Tufa Casting Sterling Silver gives a fine stippled finish, much like Old Pawn jewelry, and is widely collectible due to its heavy construction. This bracelet shows Tufa casting with a raw hammered-like finish that has slight stamping with polished effigy figures of horses and geometric patterns traditionally used by Navajo artists. The condition of this bracelet is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this bracelet are 2" x 2 1/2" x 1" and the circumference is 4 3/4". This bracelet weighs 48.9g.
