Featured in this lot is this sterling silver and multi stone inlaid pendant from Navajo artist Richard Begay. The pendant is displayed on a sterling silver square box chain. The pendant shows fantastic construction, displaying a sterling silver pendant frame and a center stone with a border of twisted rope decoration. The pendant features 11 total oval Cripple Creek cabochons around the center stone, an orange carnelian oval cut cabochon. The pendant shows the artist’s hallmark on the back of the pendant and a '.925' sterling silver marking. Richard Begay was a Navajo Silversmith from Pinon, Arizona. He borrowed jewelry tools from his father-in-law and set to work, learning the demanding craft of silversmithing. Richard was immediately drawn to the intricate inlay work for which he is known. The condition of this pendant is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurements of this pendant are 2 1/2” x 1 1/2" x 1/2" and the necklace chain measures 24". The weight of this pendant is 17.3g.
