Featured in this lot is this beautifully crafted Navajo pottery bowl made by Navajo potter, Susie W. Crank in the late 20th century. Susie W. Crank is the daughter of Rose Williams, the matriarch of Navajo pottery manufacturing. She, like her sister Alice Cling, specializes in making Navajo pottery, which she learned from her mother Rose. Susie did not take ceramics seriously until later in life, and credits her sister Alice for teaching her the more intricate details of the procedure. This bowl shows a wide base and middle section, but tapers off to a more skinny opening towards the top of the piece. It shows colors of red / brown and black throughout and is signed on the bottom reading, "Susie W. Crank Navajo". It shows good condition overall with no wear or damage present. It measures 5 3/8" L x 5 3/8" W x 4 1/2" H and weighs 1 pound.
