Featured in this lot is this sterling silver and 14k gold overlay, multi stone and lone mountain turquoise necklace from Navajo artists Tommy and Rose Singer. Tommy Singer was a renowned Navajo silversmith. He grew up on the Navajo Reservation and was taught silversmithing by his father beginning at the age of seven. Singer is thought to be one of the most important and greatest contemporary silversmith Indian artists and his work is highly sought after. Singer passed away on May 31, 2014. After his death, his wife, Rose, continued to create jewelry using designs Singer created prior to his passing. This 14k gold overlay necklace features carved Lone Mountain turquoise gemstones and a multi-strand design. The necklace also incorporates polished branch coral and jet gemstones. The gold overlay sterling beads attach the eight multi strand pieces to either side of the necklace. The necklace has marked sterling aglet tips and the overlaid beads read “T&R Singer Sterling”. The condition of this necklace is good, with no obvious signs of damage. The measurement of this necklace from clasp to clasp is 30". The collective weight of this necklace is 168g.
