This is a classic Old Pawn style sterling silver belt buckle by Navajo artists Tommy and Rose Singer. The buckle shows a classic Navajo pattern and is set with a beautiful polished cabochon of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. The piece is signed/ stamped "T&R Singer Sterling". Tommy Singer was a Navajo silversmith who specialized in chip-inlay jewelry. He died on May 31, 2014. After his death, his wife, Rose, continued to create jewelry using designs Singer created prior to his passing. Tommy and Rose did come up with a new hallmark before he passed, which is “T&R Singer”. Any item marked T&R Singer was made after Tommy’s passing. The condition of this buckle is good, with no obvious signs of damage. Measures 3” by 2 3/8”. Total weight of 47 grams.
