Featured in this lot is this Navajo Teec Nos Pos pattern hand woven wool rug, circa early 1900's. This is a very early rug that shows a fantastic traditional Navajo Teec Nos Pos design with coloration of black, light brown, and dark cream field. Teec Nos Pos is located in the northeast corner of Arizona and rose to prominence in 1905, spinning off of J.B. Moore’s Crystal weaving style. The Teec Nos Pos pattern is widely considered to be the most intricate and detailed of all Navajo rug designs, offering a truly exceptional distinct look. The condition of this rug is poor and really shows its age, with wear to the border and outside edge of the rug and a sunder in the weave along one of the ends of the rug. The measurements of this rug are 57 1/4" x 31 ½”.
