Presented in this lot is an Original Navajo Diné Thomas Yazzie Sterling Silver Sleeping Beauty Turquoise Ring signed, "T Yazzie" and "Sterling". This stunning ring features a wonderfully and professionally crafted sterling silver and silver bead construction and five bezel mounted oval Sleeping Beauty turquoise cabochons with silver beads between each setting. A sterling silver line design on the ring band is on both sides of the stones. The closure of the Sleeping Beauty mine has caused a limited supply of Sleeping Beauty turquoise. It is known for its unique color that ranges from chalky-blue, blue to sky-blue, to deep-blue, the Sleeping Beauty turquoise is for sure one of the most sought after gemstones in the turquoise world. In Navajo culture, turquoise symbolizes protection, health, and good fortune. It is deeply connected to the spiritual world and used in ceremonies for healing, protection from evil, and during important life events like coming-of-age rituals. The stone is also associated with the sacred goddess Estsanatlehi (Changing Woman) and is believed to have come from the sky. Beyond its spiritual significance, turquoise is valued for its aesthetic beauty and is a central element in Navajo artistry and craftsmanship. The condition of this sterling silver ring is good overall with rich patina observed throughout. Size 5.5, measures .75"W x 1.875"L x .875"D, weight is 14 grams.
