Offered in this lot is a pair of Navajo Made Sterling Silver clip back earrings. These earrings are attributed to Tommy Singer. Tommy Singer (1940 – 2014) grew up on the Navajo Reservation and was taught silver smithing by his father at the age of seven. He became a world famous Navajo silversmith and his distinct style of Indian Jewelry is recognized the world over. Tommy was a silversmith for over 50 years. His early works were done in the Silver overlay technique but soon began to feature Turquoise stones. While working with scrap turquoise chips, Tommy pioneered the technique of Chip inlay used by thousands of artists to this day. Tommy eventually returned to his roots by creating Exquisite Silver Overlaid Jewelry with intricate designs. These earrings feature a round concho, that hides the ear clip, with stepped geometric pattern deeply stamped into them. Hanging from the concho are two bench beads that lead to a cylinder bead. The cylinder bead is 3/4" long and 1/2" across. The cylinder bead has the same stepped design stamped on both sides of it. The earrings end with one final bench bead. The total length of these earrings are 2 1/2". These earrings are in good condition and are of distinctly Tommy Singer style though the only stamp on the earrings is "Sterling". The combined weight of the earrings is 15.1 grams
