Featured in this lot is this Navajo Tradition "Ram or Pang" Kachina dancer. The Ram (Pang) Kachina doll represents a powerful spirit in Hopi and Navajo tradition, embodying the essence of wild game animals and possessing the ability to bring rain and cure illnesses. As a hunting-related Kachina, it is believed to ensure an abundance of game, crucial for winter survival. There are two stands with three Kachina dancers in this collection. The first is the lone Kachina and shows the Ram or Pang Kachina with a removable mask adorned with white rabbit fur with strips of leather and blue body coloration. The underside of the shield is marked as follows: Ram. The second stand shows two Kachina dancers attached to the shield with foliage made from stripped turkey feathers and adorned with white rabbit fur and decorated with traditional colors and shapes with blue dyed hide on the feet waist and arm bands. The bottom of the shield is marked as follow: AnHope - Betty N 401544 - Navajo. The condition of this collection of Kachina dancers is well preserved with some slight repair in places to the double Kachina display but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition.
