For your consideration is this tightly woven Navajo Tree of Life pictorial wool rug. Navajo Tree of Life weavings all feature a central stalk of corn, the Navajo Tree of Life, emerging from a sacred matrimonial basket. On the cornstalk leaves are birds of various colors bringing messages of goodwill from the gods. On this rug we see the Tree of Life and the birds against a warm beige field flanked by a reciprocating arrow nock pattern in cream and golden wheat. The outside border of the rug is black and the rug has four cream colored tassels. As previously noted, the rug is tightly woven and it is in excellent condition. The rug measures 26.25" x 31.5".
