This is an excellent shell heishi and turquoise nugget long necklace attributed to the Navajo Native American Indians. The piece shows a thread sewn/strung necklace with total circumference length of approximately 40 inches. It features ground shell heishi cylinder beads with a dark to light brown, almost tortoise shell like, coloring along with four coral beads and two commercial turquoise colored small beads near the top. The necklace is strung with 12 larger nugget stone beads, all being a nice size and having a freeform stone shape with rich dark matrix and blue coloring. These are believed to be original turquoise, with a few having white spots indicative of being impregnated with a white mineral or being howlite/magnesite. Overall, the necklace has a wonderful old pawn 1920's styling and is likely a more contemporary stringing.
