Featured in this lot is this Navajo Yei Be Chei polychrome wool rug, circa 1950's. Yei is the Navajo name for a deity or a holy one. The Yeis are woven facing outward. They are usually depicted with long bodies and skirts and hold sacred plants or symbols. The rug shows a wonderful Yei example with five figures and naturally dyed colors with bright examples set to a pumpkin orange field. The condition of this rug is good, with slight wear to the tassels on one side of the rug’s corners. The measurements of this rug are 55" x 27 1/2".
