Included is the book, "No More Buffalo", by Bob Scriver, first edition. Through the bronze sculptures and insightful text of Bob Scriver, the recipient of the 1990 Montana Governor's Award for Distinguished Achievement in the Arts, No More Buffalo, traces the history of the Blackfeet nomadic pre-horse days, through the coming of the horse, to the flowering of their materially and spiritually rich culture in the 18th and 19th centuries. The 53 powerful sculptures, stunningly reproduced in color, honor the Blackfeet Indians that Scriver grew up with, and portray his very special understanding of the traditions of the Blackfeet culture. No library of Native American material is complete without this monumental work. Scriver created heroic sculptures in Montana of the expedition of Lewis and Clark, and in Wyoming of the legendary Buffalo Bill. His Cowboy works include a heroic work of Bill Linderman at the Cowboy Hall of Fame in Oklahoma and his "Rodeo In Bronze" series. Robert Macfie Scriver was born and lived most of his life in the Blackfeet Indian Reservation town of Browning, Montana. The collection of contemporary bronze sculptures, dramatically presented here represent the pinnacle of Scriver's profession pursuing his personal goal of excellence . For his efforts, he has been accorded gold and silver medals for excellence in sculpture by both the Cowboy Artists of America and the National Academy of Western Art. Book is in excellent condition throughout, no foxing noted, page integrity throughout, dust jacket has minimals cuffing. 12.25"H x 9.25"W x .5"D
