The lot features a fantastic set of beaded hard soled hide moccasins from the Northern Cheyenne Native American Indians dating to circa 1890. The set shows a parfleche rawhide hard sole base with sinew sewn Indian tanned medium height ankle top showing all period correct glass trade seed beadwork in a geometric pattern. The beadwork shows a border along with bottom foot edge in chalk white, red white heart and cobalt. The tops show a geometric pattern with an eight-point star in a diamond with three leaf effigies all done in red white hearts, chalk white, medium blue and green. The set shows the original hide ties and medium height hide ankle which is folded over. Also still shows the original hide tongues. Provenance: From a historic Eastern Montana American Indian Collection, where the piece was found to be an authentic original, one of the finest collections of American Indian weaponry and antiquities in Montana. Measures each9 7/8”L soles with ankle that is 4.25”H when unfolded and overall is 4.25”W.
