The lot features a hide beaded umbilical cord fetish from the Northern Cheyenne Native American Indians from circa 1890. The piece shows an Indian tanned hide construction with sinew sewing and glass trade seed beads in a geometric pattern showing all period correct beads in colors of greasy yellow, cobalt, red white heart and medium green. The piece shows nice fringe and the ties at the top. Overall the piece has a nice patina and slight stiffening of the hide which is stull partially supple. Provenance: From a historic Eastern Montana American Indian Collection, where the piece was found to be an authentic original, one of the finest collections of American Indian weaponry and antiquities in Montana.
