The map is reversible with one side advertising the "Route of the Air-conditioned North Coast Limited. Ask about free pickup and delivery on less than carload shipments." Listed personnel includes R. W. Clark, Vice President Traffic St. Paul, MN, W. H. Millard, Freight Traffic Manager, St. Paul, MN and J. L. Burnham, Western Traffic Manager, Seattle, WA. Area depicted emphasizes the Northern's routes from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Seattle & Portland, showing destinations where other rail lines intersect as well. The North Coast Limited was the premier passenger train operated by the Northern Pacific Railway between Chicago and Seattle via Butte, Montana and Homestake Pass. It commenced service on April 29, 1900, served briefly as a Burlington Northern train after the merger on March 2, 1970, and ceased operation on April 30, 1971, the day before Amtrak began service.
The map is in good condition though the edges are frayed in places and there are both stains and foxing noted. Otherwise, the red ink printing and logos are clear and bold. Measures 24"L x 19"W
