Featured in this lot is this Parfleche lid and hide wrapped tinderbox attributed to the Northern Plains Indians. The tinderbox shows a double-sided cover of Parfleche hide wrapped covering with naturally dyed red ochre decoration and the hide still sporting fur in places. The condition of this tinderbox is good, with slight wear to the outside of the tinderbox. The measurements of this primitive tinderbox are 5 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 3".
