The lot feaures a nice medium size parfleche envelope with polychrome geometric painted finish from the Northern Plains Native American Indians from circa 1900-1950's. The piece is comprised of parfleche rawhide thick heavy hide in the traditional folded envelope pattern and covered in a geometric traditional Northern Plains pattern in polychrome mineral paints. The bag has Indian tanned hide and tanned leather ties. The piece has colors of red, green and yellow / orange. Overall the piece displays well and is a beautiful example. Measures overall when closed as seen in the lead photograph 19.25"L by 12"W by 4.5" thick.
