Featured in this lot is this Northern Plains Native American wood & rawhide drum made by R.D. Spencer in 2008. The drum features a wood construction with stretched rawhide and long strips of rawhide used to hold the streatched rawhide to the wood base of the drum. A large, circular handle is set on one side of the drum, with a smaller loop used to hold the drum stick. The drum stick is constructed from a piece of carved wood and features a filled and hard rawhide bag at the end used for striking the drum. The drum is marked on the wood section reading, "2008 #9 -By- R.D. Spencer". The drum produces a good and loud tone when struck. It shows good condition overall with little to no wear present and no signs of damage noted. It measures a diameter of 13" and a height of 6". The drum stick measures 11 1/2" L x 1 1/4" W x 1 1/8" D. They have a total weight of 2 pounds and 8 ounces.
