For your consideration in this lot is New Old Stock of the four first Edition of The American Wildlife Series of knives by Camillus. Arguably one of the most important and historically significant industries in the Village of Camillus, New York was the Camillus Cutlery Factory. Camillus Cutlery manufactured knives locally for more than 100 years. This first edition collection of four knives consists of double bladed "pocket" knife with a sharpening steel rod. The knife is 4 1/2" long when closed. The double blades are high carbon steel, solid steel bolsters and tough Derlin handles. Inset into each handle is sculptured pewter wildlife by renown engraver Sid Bell. The first edition has Running Deer (white tail), Buck Deer (white tail head), Charging Bear (black bear), and Howling Coyote. These knives are all New Old Stock and in the original box and sleeves.
