Featured in this lot we have a pair of Oaxaca handmade black pottery candle holders. Oaxaca is a state located in the Southeastern part of Mexico and is known for its archeological sites and sandy beaches. The two candle holders are made of black clay and are both signed "Lama Oaxaca Mexico" across the bottom. The first of the candle holders shows a round vase like design for use on a table or mantle. The piece shows triangular holes along the bottom half with etched lines forming a boundary. The second piece shows a design allowing for easy use as a portable candle holder. The candle holder shows a bowl like base with a light wall on one side with a handle attaching to the bowl and back of the curved wall. The pieces are in good condition overall with some light wear indicative of use. The first one measures 5" tall by roughly 3 1/2" in diameter and the second candle holder measures 7 1/2" tall by 5 1/4" in diameter.
