Featured in this lot is this Oaxaca Mexican native lizard medallion rug circa 1960's. The rug features a wonderfully and professionally crafted wool construction that shows a very intricate pattern of Mexican Native tradition with geometric patterns in rich bright colors that include: orange, light blue, darker blue, light green, dark green, light red, and greasy yellow. The rug shows a central lizard medallion so called by the likeness to a desert lizard in its green uniformity. The fringe is uniquely decoration and wrapped together in triangular forms that criss cross to the length of the ends of the rug. The condition of this Zapotec rug is is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this rug is 73" x 43".
