For your consideration is this set of Ojibwe, ceremonial dance fully top beaded hide moccasins and belt from the 1950-60s. The moccasins show a hide construction with a fully beaded top section showing floral designs with colors of blue, dark blue, light green, dark green, red, yellow, teal and pink. The Ojibwe (also Ojibwa and Ojibway) are an indigenous people in Canada and the United States who are part of a larger cultural group known as the Anishinaabeg. Chippewa and Saulteaux people are also part of the Ojibwe and Anishinaabe ethnic groups. These moccasins are made by the Ojibwe (commonly called Chippewa) from around the Great Lakes. These beaded moccasins are well preserved in good overall condition, with very minimal seed bead loss. The belt shows the same bead style and design as the moccasins and features a leather construction. The beaded section is connected to the belt at the ends with rawhide straps and lays over the leather belt. The leather section of the belt features metal tacks and a solid brass buckle. The solid brass buckle is stamped on the back side reading, "Solid Brass". The belt shows good condition overall with little wear present and no signs of damage noted. The belt measures 49 1/4" L x 4 1/8" W, while the moccasins measure 11 1/4" L x 4 1/4" W (widest part of sole). They have a collective weight of 3 pounds and 8 ounces.
