Featured in this lot is this Old Mexico Magdalena Charro silver ferrule tack set. The set includes a headstall, breast collar, and set of matching reins. The set features iconic ferrule silver adornments with plate Mexican silver stamped decoration to the headstall and breast collar with florat decoration and the buttons feature clovers stamped into them with no hallmarks. Traditionally border Charro cowboys would be contracted to custom make these pieces of tack in their spare time for supplemental income so typically were left unmarked and served the purpose of rugged dependability and flash of fancy to impress. The condition of this bridle set is well preserved with some slight patina to the leather and the silver but otherwise shows a well preserved overall condition. The measurements of this bridle, breast collar, and reins is 18" x 11 1/2" for the head stall; 51" x 38" for the breast collar; and 72" long for the reins. The collective weight of this bridle set is 3lb 14oz.
