Featured in this lot is this original painting of a Native American head that shows three braids and a feather in the top portion of its head. Olaf Wieghorst (April 30, 1899 – April 27, 1988) was a Danish-American painter who specialized in depictions of the American frontier. His art was in the vein of Frederic Remington and Charles Russell. In 1992, he was inducted into the Hall of Great Westerners of the National Cowboy & Western Heritage museum. That shows a bronze frame with a Christies tag attached to the back. The condition of this framed art work is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this framed artwork is 22 1/2" x 20 1/4" and the visible art measures 9 3/4" x 7 7/8".
