Included in this lot is a Royal Doulton & Company Old Charley character mug originating from the early 1900's. The character mug displays white pottery construction with painted exterior. The mug displays a character titled "Old Charley" and is marked across the back. Charlies were watchmen and guards that were around for two hundred years before police were established. The bottom of the mug is marked "Made in England Royal Doulton England Old Charley Doulton & co. Limited". The mug shows good condition overall, with some light wear due to age. The piece measures 7 1/2" wide by 6 1/4" tall.
