This is an excellent deeply hand carved solid wood and wrought iron double hinged paneled door cabinet with a wonderful Asian Old-World craftsmanship. The cabinet has deep high-relief hand carved Scandinavian or Asian geometric patterns in a fantastic Bohemian style. The wood panel carvings are held to the solid hand-hewn wood door with cone shaped studs of wrought iron which extend through the door and are forked over as shown in the pictures. The doors show two wrought iron door knockers like loop drawer pulls and a top and bottom swivel lock. The doors show a double hinged design which allows the doors to be completely opened. The hinges are all metal with flat head old screws. All the wood is solid with an old reclaimed hand-hewn design having a rich chocolate patina and panel hewn back. The piece is truly very sturdy and soundly constructed. This could be considered a doored cabinet, armoire, bookcase, book shelf, wardrobe etc.. The exact age and origin of the piece is unknown, but its wrought iron accents, rich deeply carved features and stout high craftsmanship lend to its desirability and value.
